We’ve all heard the rhyme.
Remember, remember the 5th of November.
Bonfire Night is a time to remember the foiled Gunpowder Plot of 1605. Catholic Conspirator Guy Fawkes was discovered beneath the Houses of Parliament with 36 barrels of gunpower. Much to the nation’s relief, he was arrested before he had a chance to blow the place to bits with King James I inside.
Londoners took to the streets in celebration that night, lighting bonfires and burning effigies of Fawkes. Now, every November 5th, we continue to celebrate the failed assassination by igniting the sky with fireworks.
The displays get more and more elaborate each year, with nothing but the best kinds of fireworks used to elicit oohs and aahhs from mesmerised spectators.
Visit a display this Bonfire Night and you can expect spiralling Catherine Wheels, exploding Chrysanthemums and cascading Horsetail Shells. You’ll see showers of sparks from Fountains, hear impressive bangs from Rockets and be amazed by the dazzling colours of Roman Candles.
You can find out more about the different kinds of fireworks by taking a look at our guide below.
Plus, watching firework displays is not the only way to celebrate the arrest of Guy Fawkes. Many online casinos now provide an equally dazzling display of online slots games, designed to capture the spirit of Bonfire Night. Take your pick from playing Firework Frenzy, Fantastic Fireworks and Firework Blitz.
And, who knows, you might trigger sparks of your own with a huge win!
