Are you at the point in life now where you are in need of a vacation? If you answered yes, you are not aloneCountless individuals will tell you that they can’t even remember when it was they were last on a vacation. As a result, they’re a little on edge these days.
In the event you are in need of a vacation, how does California sound to you?
Golden State Offers Myriad of Activities
If heading to California for vacation is on your mind, what activities most interest youFirst, the nation’s most populous state can be a little bit of a challenge at times when it comes to traffic. That said you want to give yourself plenty of time to get around.
Among some of the options on your plateSan Diego – America’s Finest City can be a reprieve from Los Angeles. Not only do you have attractions like La Jolla and the downtown Gaslamp Quarter to visit, but the ocean too. For example, whale watching in San Diego can be one of the highlights of your trip. Seeing these large creatures off the coast in a tour boat is something you will not forget anytime soon. Although you can view whales online and in books etc. getting to see them up close is quite an experience.
- Los Angeles – The City of Angels is also often a highlight for many visitors to the state. Yes, the traffic is one of if not the worst in the country. That said the key here is to give yourself more time to move from one spot to another. From Hollywood to Santa Monica and much more between, you should have no problem finding stuff to do and see. If you go a little more to the south in Orange County, Disneyland and other attractions are waiting on you.
- San Francisco – The City by the Bay offers visitors as much if not more than its counterparts to the south. From Fisherman’s Wharf to a drive across the famed Golden Gate Bridge, you won’t run out of things to do and see. Unlike San Diego and Los Angeles, San Francisco can be chilly in the summertime. As a result, be sure to take a jacket or sweatshirt with you when you are walking around town. If looking for warmer temps, they usually come around by late summer and through September.
Dealing with Traffic
As mentioned, traffic can be one of the few drawbacks when visiting California. The bottom line is be ready for the occasional backup at any given time of the day.
Also keep in mind that the weather is especially conducive to t-shirts and shorts much of the year. If you live in the northeast or other winter climates, visiting SoCal can be ideal.
Last, know that the desert areas of the state do get quite warm in the summer months. If you have an interest in seeing such terrain, figure on doing it either late fall or during the winter months.
With all that California has to offer, is it your next vacation destination?
